Gina L. Gallivan, Ph.D., ABPP
Gina Gallivan, Ph.D, ABPP is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Board-Certified Police and Public Safety Psychologist. She serves as Chair of the Police Officer Wellness Initiatives Committee for the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and previously served as Executive Board Member and General Chair of the IACP Psychological Services Section. She has also contributed to several national initiatives, including the IACP Peer Support, Fitness for Duty, and Suicide Prevention Guidelines Committees.
She trains law enforcement leaders and manages peer support teams at the local, state, national, and international levels and is the founder of Southern California’s Regional Peer Support Program. She is also the founder of The Ultimate Wellness Program, a specialized treatment program focused on first responder mental health and recovery, and the author of six books on first responder wellness.
Dr. Gallivan completed her police psychology training with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and has provided psychological services to more than 100 police and public safety agencies across Southern California over the past 25 years. She has served as a California POST subject matter expert and is a POST-approved psychological evaluator. She has conducted more than 20,000 pre-employment psychological screenings and numerous fitness-for-duty evaluations. She has also served as a trauma responder for major critical incidents, including the Seal Beach Salon Meritage mass shooting, the Santa Monica active shooter incident, the UCLA active shooter incident, the Christopher Dorner manhunt, the Route 91 Harvest Festival mass shooting in Las Vegas, the Thousand Oaks Borderline Bar and Grill mass shooting, and the Huntington Beach Police Department helicopter crash line-of-duty death.
