Peer Support Training & Events
Build a Culture of Support Within Your Agency
Public safety professionals face intense pressure, trauma, and unpredictability in their day-to-day roles.
Over time, this chronic stress can lead to serious mental and physical health challenges—including anxiety, depression, burnout, substance use, and relationship strain.
Peer Support Training is designed to equip trusted co-workers with the tools to recognize early signs of distress and provide compassionate, confidential support to their peers. Led by licensed psychologists, our training aligns with AB-1116 and AB-1117 confidentiality protections and focuses on emotional support, psychoeducation, and appropriate referral pathways. Peer Support draws on shared experience and trust to strengthen resilience across your department and prevent crises before they occur.
Establishing a Peer Support Team creates a ripple effect—boosting morale, reducing stigma, and improving overall wellness. Departments that invest in these programs often see stronger team cohesion, better performance, and improved employee retention.

Our Approach
At Help for Fire and Help for Police, our mission is rooted in the belief that those who protect us deserve protection themselves. Through the Protect Wellness program—developed by CCFM—we address the growing crisis of unacknowledged trauma and health decline among first responders. Firefighters and law enforcement officers face relentless physical and emotional demands, leaving them at significantly higher risk for PTSD, depression, anxiety, sleep disorders, cancer, and heart disease.
